Luis Alberto Suárez Díaz, better known as Luis Suárez, born January 24, 1987 in Salto, Uruguay, is a Uruguayan international footballer playing as a striker at Atletico.

Suárez is regularly nicknamed “El pistolero” (literally, “The Shooter”) for his exceptional qualities in front of goals, making him one of the best strikers in the world. Transferred to Liverpool, he won the League Cup in 2012 and finished top scorer in the English league in 2014 and won the European Golden Shoe.

He joined Barcelona and in 2015 achieved the five-fold Champions League - Championship - King's Cup - Club World Cup.

He is currently the top scorer in the history of the Uruguay team. He won the Copa América in 2011, scoring in the final against Paraguay and was voted best player of the tournament.
